The thymus decreases in size and function with age. T- cells become immunocompetent in the thymus. So do the existing immunocompetent T - lymphocytes undergo mitosis to produce other immunocompetent T-cells? Or do they only proliferate when they become specific for a particular antigen?

I have been unable to find in any of my texts. Does the accessory pancreatic duct have a sphincter similar to the hepatopancreatic sphincter for the main pancreatic duct?
