Problem-Based Anatomy TeachingThis is a featured page

Seeing all Anatomy Lists reminds me of one of my main concerns when I teach anatomy--how do I present the material but do it in such a way that students are not simply memorizing lists of terms? I read the book Scientific Teaching (a review is posted here) and agree that traditional lectures and cookbook labs are not the way to go, but with anatomy there is so much content that it may be difficult to deviate from the lecture format.

What are some of your best practices to help students internalize the information and understand it in new contexts? How do you use assessments to aid learning?

Post your ideas here!
